Assurance of Salvation
The Assurance of God's comfort and blessing in times of need - an introduction to our ministry
As we believe the scriptures regarding God's plan and provision for us, we can then have assurance of his comfort and blessing in times of need. No matter what our circumstances may be, God is willing and able to help us.
As we learn about God we can note that God is the Supreme being, Creator of heaven and earth. God is the All-Present one who sees everything that happens to us and the world around us. God is the All-Knowing one who knows all things about us and the world around us. God is the All-Powerful one who has all authority and all strength. God is the All-Loving one who cares and sustains us. God is love and His love is everlasting Jeremiah 31.3. God's love is great. John 15; 13. God's love is freely Hosea 14.4 . God keeps in perfect peace, all whose mind is stayed on Him Isaiah 26.3. God hears our prayers and answers according to His will, His purpose and His grace. God was manifested in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ, and God commendeth, his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5.8. So upon our acceptance of Christ as Savior and Lord, we become children of God, Galatians. 3.26.
Now therefore in view of the above we can see God as our father. He is a great father and the only one to whom we must go to in times of need. Questions: What are your needs? Is it healing from sickness? - God is the great physician, He can bring healing with or without the doctors, but we should always consult the doctors. Is it bereavement? - God is the God of all comfort. 2nd Corinthians 1:3-4. Is it finance? - God is the source of all blessing, the Apostle Paul said "But my God shall supply all your needs according to His richest in glory by Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 . Is it meeting the rent or mortgage at the end of month? - You may be one among many who lives from pay check to pay check. I remember my first 30 year mortgage payment when I had no idea I would be able to keep it up, but, by the grace of God I made the last mortgage payment a few years ago.
Is it Frustration, Stress, or Anxiety? - God cares for you. In Philippians 4: 6-7 we read these words. "Be careful for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Is it Loneliness? - In Hebrews 13:5b we read these words: For He said I will never leave thee nor forsake thee, so we can say - Whenever you feel lonely God is always near. For if you put your trust in Him, you can say with the hymn writer- "I am His and He is mine". Your best friend may let you down, your parents may forsake you, but we read in Psalm 27.10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up. God by His grace will send Christian friends to stand with you, even if you did not know them before. " EARTH HAS NO SORROW THAT HEAVEN CANNOT CURE."
